Puzzling Close-up Photographs

June 8, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Free
Come and explore the beauty, the depth and the surprise of taking pictures up close and personal with Natalia Zacharin.  Ever wonder how to capture some of those shots that feature a subject or part of a subject that is so close, you sometimes cannot even imagine what it is?  Explore a unique point of view when you zoom in and focus on nature.  Shapes, textures and colors take on a life of their own in the world of macro photography.
Learn the tricks of getting the best up-close photographs with your standard camera.  No macro lenses or special equipment is needed to delve into this fascinating world.  We will start with a short slide presentation with ideas and tips, and then take a walk and test our new skills.
Natalia Zacharin started Weeds and Wildlife Photography in 2010, which focuses on images of native species of flora and fauna in the Mid-Atlantic.  She has taught several photography classes in schools and nature centers, and continues to enjoy using her camera to tell a story and educate the public about native species and ecology.  Natalia is a former Howard County Master Gardener and Maryland Master Naturalist, and the author of several blogs and articles on ecology.  Currently, she is the Executive Director of a non-profit that teaches children about scouting, nature and community.
